See the delicate saskatoon bushes in full bloom as the morning sun pushes its warmth over the mountain touching the tree tops? This blessing light touches individual trees that would otherwise simply blend into the massive mountainside conifer population.
The mountain beyond is cradling its happy morning clouds… and just in case we might miss the magnitude of such spiritual joy, Love doubles the revelation in the mirror-lake below!
Oneness is dawning- sacred light and pure reflection waking the newness and opportunity of this fresh new day in Life.
” Unfathomable Mind is expressed. The depth, breadth, height, might, majesty, and glory of infinite Love fill all space. That is enough.”
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy p. 520:3-5
Vast crowds were present at this popular Dutch garden, drawn by the beauty and vibrance of the tulips.
Can you see the people?
Even with thousands in the garden it was easy to find individual space to refresh and drink in the inspiration of this spring celebration of manifested beauty.
“Spiritually interpreted, rocks and mountains stand for solid and grand ideas….The fowls, which fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven, correspond to aspirations soaring beyond and above corporeality to the understanding of the incorporeal and divine Principle, Love.” pg. 511:24
Sometimes I hike up the mountain behind my house and sit in the vineyard to view the world around me and pray. Only 6 years ago this was a third growth forest brimming with large boulders and rocks.
Let me introduce you to this beautifully tended vineyard and a magnificent view of Okanagan Lake in a brief 3 minute video taken this early April evening- the first deliciously warm day of 2018.
Mountains can teach grand lessons. This is a short video taken from my desk with an insight that has made a big difference to my healing practice and my life. Sharing is caring, so I share with you, my Facebook community too. Feel free to share if you so care to:)
View from my departing plane at Boston’s Logan Airport
I had an awesome experience while standing in the crowded airport security line at Boston’s Logan airport. As I waited this question simply popped into my mind,
“What do you think we are really being screened for here? Is it simply to find harmful objects or potential terrorists? …Or, are we actually each being checked for our humanity!”
This surprised me but the idea somehow felt right. It made total sense to be checked for essential human qualities before flying together in an airplane- to be looking for the evidence of respect, patience, care, compassion, intelligence, honesty, peace, harmony and of course careful packing. In essence the airport screening process was designed to ensure that everyone who boarded a plane carried the essential “golden rule” with them, namely, a respect and mutual care for both themselves and their fellow travellers, including airline and security personnel and airport staff, basically to treat others as they would expect to be treated.
This idea made me smile, and I could honestly see all around me the universal principle or “golden rule” operating. There were families lovingly helping each other, thoughtfully dressed individuals traveling for business, to conferences, or for education; colourfully dressed artists, and vacation goers patiently waiting their turn. It was a beautiful cross-section of humanity that surrounded me. And I knew that only pure qualities of humanity would be let though the check point. Any blatant abuse, wrong intent or “poor packing” would be detected and never pass the tests and screening.
This spiritual view and practical reasoning changed the airport security experience for me.
A woman in front of me turned around and told me she used to be afraid of flying but had recently realized it was the lineups and security she actually feared. We spoke for a minute or two and shared a chuckle together. She seemed relaxed and happy. All I could think of as we removed our shoes before going through the scanner was that we were standing together on some amazing Holy ground.
People continued to wait patiently to pass through the Boston airport “Humanity Scanner” and everything proceeded smoothly and on time the rest of the way home.
I am grateful for this fresh and uplifted view of airport security, it has made the experience much more inviting, harmonious, and even fun.
Are you waiting for something? Are you waiting for something to happen? Perhaps waiting for a better life? better health, stronger wings of faith, or simply the courage to step out and try something new?
Note: There are two kinds of waiting.
One is actually procrastination based on underlying fears or the unknown. This kind of waiting is like having wings but never even trying to fly. This waiting is self-defeat from the onset. It breeds boredom and disillusionment.
The other type of waiting is really patience, it is an active faith based on listening, watching, inspiration, and readiness. This type of waiting is more about preparing to act at a moments notice when the opportunity presents itself. This waiting includes a spirit of adventure. It builds character and exercises our spiritual muscles every day.
Take a look at the kind of waiting you may be doing. Are you seeing your life as an adventure? Are you alert and watching for opportunities to act? Patiently waiting for divine Love- intelligence itself- God to “form the perfect concept” and lead you forward into action?
Mary Baker Eddy makes this brilliant statement in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures on page 454. Of course the “pinions” are flight feathers:)
“Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way. Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to speech and action…Wait patently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept. Patience must “have her perfect work.”
Who is Mary Baker Eddy? Where did she live? Against all the odds and restrictions on women in the 19th century how did she come to discover Christian Science, recover from chronic illness, poverty, and go on to write a best-selling book that has healed countless individuals and helped change the world?
This is a historical and inspirational 30 minute lunch-hour talk about Mary Baker Eddy given by Chet Manchester and videoed at the Lynn Massachusetts Historical Society Museum in 2016- on the 150 year anniversary of her discovery of Christian Science. (Full length is 49 minutes including the interesting question/answer period)
Perhaps grab some lunch or take a break and discover something new about the life and accomplishments of this remarkable woman.
