Are you waiting for something? Are you waiting for something to happen? Perhaps waiting for a better life? better health, stronger wings of faith, or simply the courage to step out and try something new?
Note: There are two kinds of waiting.
One is actually procrastination based on underlying fears or the unknown. This kind of waiting is like having wings but never even trying to fly. This waiting is self-defeat from the onset. It breeds boredom and disillusionment.
The other type of waiting is really patience, it is an active faith based on listening, watching, inspiration, and readiness. This type of waiting is more about preparing to act at a moments notice when the opportunity presents itself. This waiting includes a spirit of adventure. It builds character and exercises our spiritual muscles every day.
Take a look at the kind of waiting you may be doing. Are you seeing your life as an adventure? Are you alert and watching for opportunities to act? Patiently waiting for divine Love- intelligence itself- God to “form the perfect concept” and lead you forward into action?
Mary Baker Eddy makes this brilliant statement in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures on page 454. Of course the “pinions” are flight feathers:)
“Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way. Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to speech and action…Wait patently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept. Patience must “have her perfect work.”
With gratitude.
